Loki recaps of Season 1 Episodes 1-6

After a successful run in it's TV-Phase so far with its two delightful and star-studded shows, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier and WandaVision, Marvel now hit the small screen again with it's another much awaited show-Loki.  With one episode being released every wednesday, the show has been delivering dedicated performaces of the respective characters.  Listed below are the recaps of episodes released so far for a quick catch up or a clearer idea, on the episodes watched:

Episode 1: Glorious Purpose

    The episode starts off with the prologue with the events of the year 2012, referring to when Loki stole the Tesseract with space stone in it, when Tony Start who travelled back in time gets knocked down by Hulk who smashes a door from the other side on his way.  The Tesseracts falls off Tony's case and slides close to Loki, which he picks up and immediately disappears.

    Loki randomly transports himself into Gobi desert of Mongolia, where's he's interfered with a group of soldiers from and organization called the Time Variance Authority, while he's announcing himself to few of the people of the desert passing by.  He's taken into custody and then taken to the TVA, the Tesseract taken away from him, he's introduced to a whole new organization which monitors the flow of sacred timeline.  The organization brings who disturb the timeline to trail, whom it calls 'Variants'.  At another place and another time, Aix-En-Provence, France 1549, Agent Mobius leads his team of TVA soldiers on investigating a scene where other TVA soldiers are attacked by a dangerous variant who took their time reset charge.  After they concluded with what traces they can find, another soldier appears before from a portal and hands Mobius the file of latest variant they apprehended, Loki.

    Mobius interferes Loki's trial and asks the Judge who seems he's quite familiar with, that he needs to take Loki with him on a hunch that he might be helpful for TVA in catching the variant who attacked its soldiers.  He briefs Loki about the TVA and how it operates, about the Time Keepers that created it. Mobius then takes Loki to a projector room, and both seating at the table, Mobius has a getting-to-know-him conversation with Loki, his wants and intentions if he's out of TVA.

    After few minutes Mobius starts the projector playing a tape about Loki showing what has happened with him so far.  And after talking about those events and relating them to Loki's intentions, Mobius then plays the tape further.   The tape also shows the future, what happens to normal version of Loki who didn't disturb the timeline/escape with the Tesseract.  Showing further, Loki witnesses his mother's death, gets infuriated in the conversation about it.  He tries to attack Mobius but is reset a few steps back in position by Mobius with a remote which signals an advanced time band around his neck, which Mobius also used a little while ago.

    Loki manages to escape after the soldier who arrested him takes Mobius out to talk about another attack by the said dangerous variant.  Loki manages to find the Tesseract in the desk of a TVA office employee.  But he loses his intention to escape when he sees many other infinity stones in the same desk.  The employee, Casey, tells Loki that they have many of those stones, that some of them even use them as paperweights.  Loki realises the TVA is a greater power than he believed it to be.  He returns to the projector room, watches the tape till the end, to the event where Thanos kills his normal version in future after attacking the asgardian ship (Avengers: Infinity war) after the events of ragnarok, looking for the space stone.  Looking at Thor crying over his dead body and then the 'END OF FILE' note displayed, Loki utters "Glorious purpose." with tears in eyes and a smile on his face, when the soldier who arrested him comes in and asks "What's so funny?"

    Loki confronts her in a fight, he teleports her away with the band that was around his neck till then.  He then has a calm conversation with Mobius, at the end of which he tells Loki that he can offer him a purpose of helping him catch the fugitive variant.  And when Loki asks "Why me?" Mobius answers him with "The variant we're hunting is....you."

    At another place and another time, a team of TVA soldiers finds themselves in a field at night pursuing a time disturbance event by an unknown variant, then they find oil running through the field.  They mistake that to be the doing of someone just travelling back in time to get rich.  But soon one of them sees a person in a dark hood (fugitive variant) at a distance in the darkness, who suddenly attacks them by setting the field on fire by dropping fire on the oil, then taking their time reset charge away.

Episode 2: The Variant

    A team of TVA soldiers searching for a variant turns up in Oshkosh, Wisconsin 1985.  As soon as the Minutemen/soldiers detect the presence of the variant in a tent nearby, they head into it with no timeline disturbance yet.  But the variant rises from behind, form the darkness and enchants the mind of the commander, who then takes everyone of the team down.  After the fight the variant takes the commander hostage, into a portal away from there.

    Meanwhile at the TVA, Loki answers the theoretical questions the holographic Ms. Minutes asks which are boring to him.  Mobius arrives and takes him to the team that's been tasked to investigate the attack site, they are briefed by Hunter B-15, the soldier who arrested Loki, and Mobius also adds the objective of catching the variant with types of Loki they know and their abilities.  And Loki clears them about how illusion-projection duplication-casting they discuss are completely different.  And while preparing to dispatch, Mobius hint Loki that there might be change for him to get an audience with the Time-Keepers.

    After they arrive at the attack site, they learn that the variant has taken a hostage which hasn't happened before.  Loki tell Mobius that the variant wants him and how wants to help them but he needs assurances that he won't be disintegrated after the mission and they need to talk to the Time-Keepers about the conflict.  But Mobius soon gets that Loki is playing games and denies him, while the team sets the reset charge.  Going back to the TVA Mobius has a conversation with Ravonna (Judge) on how Loki can still be useful on their mission next time despite trying to trick Mobius just before.  Ravonna tell him that it is the last change he's going to get with Loki.  After coming out of Ravonna's office Mobius tells Loki about the current standing while not being a good mood about what happened.  He takes Loki to where each and every one of variant case files and give him his perspective after reading everything.  After reading those files Loki heads to a receptionist, and gets files which has permission to read, after she denies him the classified files he asked.  The only files he gets are about himself, Laufeyson, Loki.

    While reading about ragnarok in those files, being emotional for few moments, Loki looks next at 'Zero Variance Energy Detected' in the details. He gets a sudden clear idea about the current situation and so he rushes to Mobius who's eating his lunch.  He explains Mobius how a variant can hide in an event of just before an apocalypse causing zero variance in the sacred timeline, because the apocalypse wipes out everything around anyway.  He explains this theory with crude metaphors also using Mobius' salad and other items like salt for visualization, finally making Mobius agree to test this theory.

    Together they head to Pompeii, 79AD to test this theory.  On arriving Mobius duly warns loki that they shouldn't be there in the first place and anything they do could create a huge branch in history.  So he suggests Loki to start with doing something little like making bird noises.  But Loki ignores and goes to center of a nearby crowd and yells about the coming apocalypse and they both have come from the future.  The volcano far behind them erupts and to Mobius' surprise, there's zero variance energy in his monitoring device proving the theory correct.  They head to TVA being ready to examine the files on apocalypses that left no survivors, guessing the variant they're pursuing is hiding behind one of those.  But soon they get tired from going through those files, and so Mobius asks Loki to come with him on a walk.  While sitting around a table having their coffees or such drinks, Loki, in their conversation asks Mobius about the magazine on jet skis, his belief in the TVA, it's operation and the Time-Keepers.  Loki mentions that Mobius called him a scared little boy before, when he came out of Ravonna's office.  When he tells Mobius that he's wrong since he knows something children don't, that no one bad is every truly bad, and no one good is ever truly good, an idea flashes in Mobius' mind on hearing the phrase 'scared little boy'.  He goes to see the packet of bubble gum named Kablooie which was given by the variant to a little kid in the event of Aix-en-Provence, France.  He tells Loki that they should now search for the apocalypses in the timeline of Kablooie being available/sold.  While they both go through the files Loki find the catastrophe that matches the criteria, Alabama 2050.

    Mobius struggles but finally succeeds in convincing Ravonna to permit their mission depending on Loki's theory.  Mobius come out of her office and takes Loki to the team where Hunter B-15 briefs all of the team about Roxxcart, a superstore when survivors are hiding from the storm, Alabama 2050.

    After the team arrive in Alabama 2050 during the storm, they enter Roxxcart, where Hunter B-15 divides the team by taking Loki with her and rest of the team with Mobius.  In their search Hunter B-15 and Loki see a person shopping alone in a partly-lit section of the store.  When Hunter B-15 nears the person, the enchantment spell from him goes onto her and hence, there happens the first conversation of Loki and the variant Loki, when the variant talks through Hunter B-15's body by enchantment.  And in their further conversation Loki informs the Variant that he's been earning the TVA trust all along so he can be on that mission so that he would meet the Variant Loki.  He tells that he's planning to overthrow the Time-Keepers and seize control of the TVA, and he could use the variant in this plan.  The variant denies his offer, and meanwhile at the other section of the store Mobius and team finds the missing commander form Oshkosh, Wisconsin 1985 mission, trembling in fear.  She informs them that she gave away the location of Time-Keepers.

    Loki finds out the stolen charges that are rigged and asks the variant if the plan is to blow up the place luring them all here.  But the variant attacks him using another enchantment victim onto whom the spell shifted.  After the fight, the variant finally shows up in true form, and to Loki's surprise, the variant is a woman version of himself.  And at the same moment, the device at a distance that's connected to the charges starts initialisation, hence all the set charges has each tiny portal opened beneath every one of them, falls into them.  The people at the TVA observe a massive disruptions in the timeline, one of them reporting "Somebody just bombed the timeline."  After observing the charges going into those portals, Mobius and team runs towards Loki who just saw the variant slip into the portal that's about to close.  They yell "Loki, wait!" but Loki follows the variant by going into the portal next, which closes upon his passing through it.

Episode 3: Lamentis

    The commander from the Oshkosh, Wisconsin 1985 mission and the variant has a fun chat having their drinks, being close friends from so long sitting at a table.  But the question variant asks comes out context, asking about how many people are guarding the Time-Keepers.  As soon as the commander gets the slightest feeling of the surroundings and their friendship being totally unfamiliar unlike just a few moments ago, the variant ups her game of brain control on the commander who actually is dreaming all of that, and gets the answer she's looking for.  Golden elevators that would lead to the Time-Keepers.

    After getting into the portal from Roxxcart, the variant arrives at the TVA that's on alarms and fights her way through the guards to the golden elevators.  Loki arrives at the TVA following her and finally confronts and fights the variant.  When Ravonna enters there interrupting fight, Loki snatches the variant's Tempad and sends them both through a portal as an act of escape.

    Teleporting into a cabin on an unknown place, the variant tries to escape after grabbing the Tempad from Loki, but it informs her of too low battery charge to teleport away.  Stopping their fight they come outside to see where are.  The variant yells at Loki that it is Lamentis-1, 2077, a moon which a planet not so far and that is visible, is going to collapse into.

    They both calm down settling on a fact Tempad needs to be charged so that they can get out there before the apocalypse.  After their disputes, they set out with the variant informing Loki about a nearby town.  When Loki calls her 'variant' she informs him about her alias, Sylvie.  Walking, Loki asks about her plans and mentions the difference in their motives.  They reach the town to see there are no one.  Soon they find a cabin and approach it.  When Sylvie tries to barge her way in she's propelled away from the door by a weapon triggered by a woman inside.  Loki tries to trick her by turning into her husband but he fails to make the woman believe and gets propelled too.  They finally gets the info they needed, where everybody are.

     As informed by the woman, the reach the train which takes people to an escape ship called the ark.  The train is only being boarded by the wealthy and the poor are in lines outside, and the train is fully surrounded by guards.  Loki transforms into attire of a guard and takes Sylvie inside the train with him, while she pretends to be a prisoner.  Being seated in the luxury of the train, they both talk about their mothers, memories of them and how they learnt the powers they have.  When Loki mentions the woman who informed them of the train chose to die/remain behind, Sylvie answers him with "She was in love."  Loki then asks if there is someone waiting for her after all of that, and continuing the conversation they give their opinions on love.

    After a little nap, Sylvie wakes up to find Loki drunks and singing a beautiful song with all of them around, but however gives away their cover finally when he becomes suspicious to a guard.  Together they put up a good fight but at the end of it Loki falls off the train and Sylvie follows him as he has the tempad, which Loki shows it finally but destroyed due to the fall.

    After being talked out of feeling down by Loki, Sylvie prepares to head for the ark with him.  While on the way, while explaining the process of entanglement Sylvie tells him that everyone at the TVA are variants just like them, which comes as a surprise to Loki.  When reach the city where the ark is, the whole are is full of protests.  They fight their way to close to the ark but only to witness the ark being destroyed by a huge meteor since the planet is already very close to Lamentis-1.

Episode 4: The Nexus Event

    Sylvie as a kid was taken from Asgard by TVA, led by Ravonna, who captures her as a variant, without telling what Sylvie's crimes against the timelines were.  During her trial at the TVA Sylvie manages to steal Ravonna's Tempad and escape out of there.

    At the present moment, Ravonna goes into the Time Keepers' chamber and meets them, and after coming back she tells Mobius that the Time Keeps' are on an edge about this case.  When Mobius tells her that's why he needs the commander from Oshkosh (Hunter C-20) and stresses on it, Ravonna tells him she's dead due to Sylvie's enchantment, that she scrambled C-20's mind fatally.

    Back on Lamentis-1, sitting disappoint facing the ongoing apocalypse, Loki apologizes to Sylvie, after which explains her little memory of Asgard and how her life turned out.  At the TVA, at the same moment the crew are on high alert finding Loki and Sylvie, and Hunter B-15 ask Mobius about C-20.  He doesn't reveal C-20's death, answers her that he doesn't know any news about her.

    The apocalypse nears Loki and Sylvie on Lamentis-1, facing it they have an emotional moment of their own, which suddenly creates a huge branch in the timeline showing up in the TVA monitor.  Everyone one is alerted and two portals open up in front of Loki and Sylvie to get out of there.  They both are captured, taken seperate ways at the TVA, and  thenLoki is forced into a time loop prison after tries to have a talk with Mobius on the way which turns out to be unsuccessful.  Just before he's made to enter the time loop prison, loki tells Mobius that TVA's been lying to them but Mobius doesn't believe him.  In the prison, Loki is placed in a loop of his bad memory from being back at Asgard, which is Lady Sif being angry at him for cutting her hair for fun, and then assaults him.

    Mobius ask Ravonna for interrogating Sylvie but she denies it saying Sylvie's too dangerous.  On his way back Mobius has a conversation with Hunter B-15 where she asks if Loki has told him anything, to which Mobius answers with Loki's statement about TVA lying to them.  Mobius bring Loki out and they involve in a serious conversation where Mobius tells Loki that his feelings for Sylvie are very out of place.  In the heat of the conversation, Loki yells "You're all Variants!" answering Mobius' question from just before, what Loki meant by telling him that the TVA has been lying to them.  Mobius doesn't appear believing what Loki said, so he sends him back into the time loop prison.

    Hunter B-15 sneaks Syvie and herself out of there, through a portal she opens taking out her Tempad.  Mobius and Ravonna has a hearty conversation about where they would go to in the timeline if they had a chance.  Mobius asks about C-20 again at the end of it, to which Ravonna explains how the commander lost her mind to a point that she couldn't even form words at the end.  After that Mobius steals Ravonna's Tempad replacing hers with his while she is distracted.

    Hunter B-15 takes Sylvie to in front of Roxxcart, then asks her what she did to her mind when she enchanted her, when they were there for the first time.  Sylvie tells her that she can't make memories, but only can show what there are.  She tells her that they're all Variants taken away by the Time Keepers, that they both are the same.  Mobius learns from Ravonna's Tempad that she covered up what the commander's statements about them all being Variants.  Mobius goes into the time prison, tell Loki that he's right about the TVA.  Before going out together, he makes a friendly staement to Loki that he can be whoever he wants to be, someone good.  As soon as they are out of the time prison, they're confronted by Ravonna and few Minutemen.  They prune Mobius after they take Ravonna's Tempad from him.  Loki and Sylvie are taken to the golden elevator by Ravonna's team, and hence they come to meet the Time Keepers after a long wait.  But their fierce meeting only goes on until Hunter B-15 crashes it, and a fight arises between them and Ravonna and minutemen around.  At the winning point of it Sylvie throws a sword at one of the Time Keepers, which reveals a surprise that the Time Keepers are actually only mindless androids.

    After they came across an immensely weighted question of "Then who created the TVA?", Loki turns to Sylvie once more and tells her that they will figure that out.  He further tries to tells out his feelings for her, but he suddenly gets pruned by Ravonna from behind.  Countering that Sylvie beats Ravonna in a very brief encounter and then demands that she's going to tell her everything.

Post-credits:  Loki wakes up in a strange place, a strange world.  Lying down he expresses a question weather it is Hel, and weather he's dead.  An anonymous voice from a short distance replies that he will be, unless he goes with them.  Following the voice Loki gets partially up, and sees four different versions of himself looking at him.

Episode 5: Journey Into Mystery

    Loki wakes up in a strange place (void) and a variant (Classic Loki) among other three variants shows him a giant fog monster at distance called Alioth and that they have to escape from it.  Back at TVA Sylvie threatens Ravonna, and Ravonna stops her saying Loki could be still alive and explains the void, a place where the TVA sends all the pruned variants.

    Loki yells at the other variants to explain him what's happening, to which they answer him describing the void, Alioth and that being Lokis they survive.  And that they can't escape, they tried everything before him.  They take Loki to inside of their bunker, while at the TVA Ravonna tries to stall Sylvie while anwering her questions about the void.  But Sylvie sees through it just before the guards rush in.  Sylvie quickly moves away from them into behind the judge's desk with Ravonna's Tempad and after having a little conversation with Ravonna, she prunes herself.

    Loki sits in the bunker with Classic Loki, Child Loki (leader of those variants) and another Loki (termed as Boastful Loki), and Boastuful Loki and Classic Loki tells their stories to Loki.  Loki hears them out and gets up and explains his plan of returning to TVA, and further adds he can help Sylvie take down the TVA, and killing Alioth, and he could use their help.  After listening they burst into laugh, and Loki walks away alone and climbs to the door of their bunker.  When he opens it he sees many other variants of him more in number standing outside, staring at him.

    Sylvie wakes up in the void soon encounters Alioth.  When escapting from it she has a very quick glance of a vision, an unknown place, when she touches a branch from the fog for a second.  Mobius approaches her in a car and takes her in and starts to drive away.  A fight breaks out in the bunker between the Lokis, when Boastful Loki betrays Child Loki for the throne, revealing that he teamed up with the leader of new group of Lokis that barged in.  But their leader betrays Boastful Loki for the leadership, and his group members betray the leader for the throne further.  The fight rages on while Classic Loki, Child Loki and Loki escape out of there using a portal created by Classic Loki.  After the escape Loki succeeds in convincing them in killing Alioth, that nothing can be changed until the TVA's stopped.

    Sylvie asks Mobius to turn the car around towards Alioth whom they just escaped from.  Loki explains his plan to others but witnesses Alioth taking over a fighter Ship full of soldiers so quick.  Kid Loki sees a car coming towards them from distance, and hence Sylvie and Mobius meet Loki and the other Variants of him.  Sylvie surprises Loki by saying she's going to enchant Alioth. 

    Back at the TVA, Ravonna meets with Hunter B-15 who's been captured.  She tells Ravonna that the people need to know the truth about the TVA but Ravonna stresses that it needs stability.  Hunter B-15 further tells Ravonna that Sylvie would find who's behind TVA before she does, becuase Sylvie needs it.

    Mobius has a talk with Loki Variants inside a partly collapsed room, while Loki and Sylvie are sitting outside.  They talk about what passed between both of them, what they're gonna do after when it is all over.

    They all come together watching Alioth from afar, Loki's Variants wish him luck and turn back, after Kid Loki give Loki a conjured sword.  Mobius parts from Loki and Sylvie, he opens a portal from the Tempad Sylvie stole from ravonna.

    They both approach Alioth, and they need diversion so that Sylvie can enchant it through a branch.  Loki tries to distract it after running a little away but it soon fails and Alioth rushes towards Sylvie again.

    But suddenly Alioth concentrates on a bigger distraction at a distance, an illusion of entire Asgard created by Classic Loki.  Classic Loki sacrifises himself proudly holding it away from Loki and Sylvie, and so, they both could finally enchant it together after Sylvie encourages Loki over enchantment.  Alioth halts, and admist the fog that's changed shade, lies a portal open showing them an unknown world with a castle that's not so far right in front of them.

Episode 6: For All Time.  Always.

    A floating place in space, around which the timeline is represented as a line making a circle, Loki and Sylvie arrive and are in front of a castle on it.  Sylvie pauses for a moment to clear her head, but the doors open themselves revealing the barely-lit castle inside.  And after they enter carefully, Ms. Minutes suddenly appears out of nowhere welcoming them to that Citadel at the end of time.  She tells them that 'He who remains', a person they haven't met yet offers them a deal, Loki getting the victories he wanted on the timeline and Sylvie her lifetime of happy memories.  And also that both them could exist together on the timeline.  They reject the offer and move forward.

    Back at the TVA, Ms. Minutes visits Ravonna again who tell her the files she just downloaded onto her Tempad aren't what she asked Ms. Minutes.  But Ms. Minutes disappears without answering Ravonna fully.

    An elevator chimes infront of Loki and Sylvie opening its doors, and they are on their guard keeping their weapons forward. He who remains comes out of it and is surprised to see them both, two Lokis, together in front of him.  He's quite not what they expected.  They are welcomed into the elevator, and after entering Sylvie tries thrice to kill him with her sword's swing but He who remains keeps teleporting himself to just beside with his Tempad just before her blade could hit him.  Then he disappears and welcomes them out from outside the elevator after the doors opened.

    Mobius confronts Ravonna at the TVA, who in the conversation tells her that they know her secret.  2018, Fremont, Ohio, Minutemen spot Hunter B-15 in a school corridor who voluntarily came out in front of them, supposedly according to Mobius's plan.  She makes one of them see a person as same as Ravonna, and tells him that they have lot to talk about.

    He who remains tells Loki and Sylvie that he knew everything about what they're gonna do, and also what they did.  That he paved the way for them to get there.

    After their conversation Ravonna tries to go away, and Mobius tries to stop her and fails.  She walks into the portal opened from her Tempad.

    After telling them that TVA is important though his methods are deceptive, He who remains tells them about a variant of himself, who is a scientist from the 31st century, and about the multiverse he discovered.  Every universe, has each of its own version of him and not everyone was friendly after there was a contact between universes.  And when a multiversal war broke out for domination, he weaponized Alioth, a creature created from the tears in reality, and ended the war.  He then isolated their timeline and created the TVA to manage the flow of time and prevent any further branches.  And then he offers Loki and Sylvie a choice, of either killing him and starting a multiversal war where there are many versions of him involved, or they two would run everything, since he is very old, and tired.  Loki questions his decision while Sylvie isn't convinced at all.

    He suddenly pauses in his conversation, followed by a noise from afar.  After the pause he says that they have crossed the threshold, that he know new everything that's gonna happen upto that point and hence, he doesn't know how rest of it is going to go.  After his remaining conversation on the point, he removes his Tempad and places it in front of them.  A fight suddenly breaks out, starting with Sylvie trying to kill He who remains.  Loki tries his best to stop Sylvie saying eventhough she doesn't believe him, the cost of being wrong to too high.   The fight ends with Loki's sincere conversation which is followed by two of them sharing an intimate kiss.  Sylvie suddenly pushes Loki into the portal opened behind him, making him fall into the TVA, using He who remain's Tempad.  Sylvie drives her sword into He who remain's chest, who still smiles and says "See you soon" and then passes away.  Out of the castle, the timeline then branches immensely into uncountable number of branches.

    Loki gets up after grieving for a moment and heads over to where Mobius is at.  Mobius and Hunter B-15 look at the hugely branched timeline on screen when Loki arrives at them.  Loki tries to explain in distress about what has happened, about 'him' who they found out at the citadel. But Mobius doesn't recognize him at all, he asks Loki if he is an analyst at the TVA and which division he is from.  Loki slowly turns to the huge statue in front, a statue of He who remains in place of those of Time Keepers.
