UEFA EURO 2020 Group-A analysis

After many hurdles Euro 2020 is completing its first phase (Group stage). Group A are done with their matches, and two teams Italy and Wales qualified for further round whereas Switzerland is waiting for others' result to qualify as the third placed team.

Here is a quick analysis of the group and how things resulted for the teams.

As expected by a good share of audience Italy finished as the group winners and Wales as the runners of the group. Switzerland finished at three against the expectations, depending on their recent performances and others teams in the group they were expected to finish second, but due to the goal difference they finished third. Turkey, team which was treated as the underdogs of the whole EURO finished fourth.

Here is a team wise analysis and how things might go in future for the respective teams.

1. ITALY

Italy is one of the favourite teams to lift this year's EURO as they are very well balanced and they're on an unbeaten streak of thirty matches. After failing to qualify for the world cup they have come back strong and left behind their traditional defensive style of play and now they are more of an attacking team, who are willing to attack even though they are leading.

In these many positives Italy do have few things to look out for as their group did not have any strong team to trouble them, so they qualified without much efforts. One more thing they have to mind is that they are high on spirits due to effortless wins and if they have to face any stronger team in RO16, this high spirits may tackle their win.

2. WALES

Wales is expected to be finishing second or third, and so following these expectations they finished second with their best performances against Turkey and Switzerland. As long as Wales concerned they would have to have a strong plan if they want to face any strong team in RO16. Against Italy we saw how vulnerable they are to strong teams.

 3. SWITZERLAND

As mentioned earlier they are expected to be finished second above Wales. For now they need to wait for the results of other groups so they can qualify as best third placed team in the group. Except the match against Turkey their performances have been below par. If by any chance they qualify for the next round they would have to face a strong team so hope they play good football.

4. TURKEY

Turkey is the most disappointed team in whole tournament. Being the underdogs of this tournament, due to their recent good performances and team many has expected them to do wonders and qualify for the next round from Group-A which does not have best teams except Italy, but they didn't.

The above is a brief analysis for Group-A teams so far.  Opinions?  Give your views in the comment section below.
