EURO 2020 is done with their all group matches and Round Of 16 matches are confirmed for all the qualified teams.
Here is the analysis for Group-E and Group-F:
Group-E
Group-E consists of Sweden, Spain, Slovakia and Poland.
Against the odds Sweden topped the group with 7 points. Except the match against Spain they won other matches comfortably. Sweden are going to face Ukraine in RO16. Due to recent form of Ukraine, Sweden are clear favourites in this game.
Spain, no one expected them to finish second in the group as they are clear favourites for the first spot. Due to the poor form of their attackers Spain had to fight till the last game to qualify for the next round. They are going to face Croatia in RO16.
Slovakia, they lost a great chance to qualify for next round due to their poor match against Spain. They would have been to RO16 if they didn't lose the match with 5 goals. Anyway, they played really well with less resources they have.
Poland is one of strongest teams in the group. No one thought that they would finish last when the tournament started. They haven't reached their full potential in any of the matches. It's not acceptable when they haven't won single match in whole tournament.
Group-F
Group-F is the most decorated group in the whole tournament. It consists of two former world champions, France and Germany and former Euro winners Portugal and Hungary. Its clearly the group of death in this year's tournament.
France, they won the group but not that easily. They had to fight till the last minute to secure the top place. They won one against Germany and drew with Portugal and Hungary. One sigh of relief for France is that they are going to face Switzerland in RO16 which is a lesser opponent compared to their group.
Germany secured second place after a tough game against Hungary, they had to come back twice to secure a draw. Except the match against Portugal they haven't played well in their other games. Germany is going to face England in their RO16 fixture.
Portugal attackers played really well but their defence let them down every time. Against Germany their defenders scored two own goals in the span of 5 minutes to blow their lead. They are vulnerable when they are defending counterattacks and there is no midfield to see. Cristiano played well with Jota and sanches. They are going face another strong team Belgium in RO16.
Hungary is in a group with giants of world football. They played well against all the three teams but unfortunately that was not enough against the mighty teams. They made every team to strive for their points. If only Hungary is in any other group they would have qualified for further round.
